The client is working on building one of the world's most feature rich professional networking web 2.0 career management portal. This website, with the baseline features of a job site integrated with all the elements of a professional network will provide job seekers with a rich, interactive and collaborative experience in their job search and long term career growth. This portal brings together some of the best features and practices across the social and professional networking web 2.0 domain - and takes some of the best ideas across LinkedIn, Xing, Tech Republic and Tech Tribe. It has several unique features including - online web based professional development center, knowledge management center and personal website with customization/ links to other sections for users/ companies/ recruiters. Other differentiators include the personality side of profiles (for users to e-brand), targeted professional networking zones, intelligent matching based on profile and interests with privacy protection, mobile interface and audio/ web conferencing. Critical emphasis is laid on technical/ software differentiators including usage of AJAX/ website accelerators, spam protection and targeted personalized ads. The portal has all major features of career/ job management, professional networking sites - including detailed member registration and profiling, member contacts/ messages/ scraps, groups/ communities, blogs/ discussion forums, events, calendar, questions/ answers, chat rooms, podcasts/ webcasts, polls/ surveys, job center (with 3rd party feeds), advanced searches, RSS feeds and building the site code from a search engine optimization perspective.
Pegasus InfoCorp first built a detailed SRS (software requirement specifications) for the portal based on detailed discussions with the client - to understand the overall vision and differntiators based on the business plan. Thorough technical detailing of each feature was then done to build the SRS based on the business and technical analysis of the project. Based on the SRS, and client feedback, Pegasus InfoCorp is working on the phase wise delivery of this professional networking site.
