Our clients wanted to develop a product that would allow their customers to record, manage and send messages via ‘video emails’ to others. The purpose of this product was mainly to help their client’s mail out ‘training sessions’, ‘demos’ etc as video messages to their clientele. The client approached Pegasus InforCorp for developing this high end complex web and desktop software
The product, a web based application, uses Flash streaming video recording techniques and playback using FMS server to record the videos online using webcams and microphones. Customers can get access to their control panel where they can record, save, play and send their messages (video links) to others via email.
The video once recorded, is automatically saved on the flash (FMS) server. Customers are able to save these videos for future reference by specifying tags, descriptions etc for each video. Customers have the ability to then send these videos through email at a later date, as required. An email is created with the video link and the recipient can just click on the link to see the video in flash player (using FFMpeg).
The site also has a provision for customers to record their desktop and save it as a video file in their profile. For this, a desktop application in VB.NET has been developed, which can be downloaded from the website. Customers have to login to this application to record their desktop, a proper authentication procedure is followed before recording the video. Once the recording is complete, the application encodes the video file into flash streaming format, and uploads it on the flash server directly, from the application. The site also includes other features such as different subscription packages depending upon the time duration of video recordings and the validity period for the videos, the ability for site administrator to manage subscriptions, customers etc from the backend, payment gateway integration for making payments online, email flash video screen links etc.
